Frequently Asked Questions
Our Brisbane Acupuncture Clinic
Do I need to do anything to prepare for my acupuncture appointment?
Please ensure you are not arriving on an empty stomach to your acupuncture appointment - try to have a meal at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment time. We also recommend that you do not scrap your tongue leading up to and on the day of your appointment. The coating on the tongue can give your acupuncturist an idea of what is happening internally within your body - this is a part of the 'tongue diagnosis' process.
Where is your Brisbane acupuncture clinic located?

Our Brisbane acupuncture clinic is located within Neshima Collective, just 10 minutes from Brisbane CBD, in the calm suburb of Holland Park West. A convenient location for those located close to the inner city suburbs and South Brisbane suburbs such as Annerley, Tarragindi, Camp Hill, Cooparoo, Woolloongabba, Highgate Hill etc.

What should I expect for my first acupuncture appointment?
During your first acupuncture appointment there will be a consult where an assessment is made to better understand your body and why it is presenting the way it is. This will then be followed by an acupuncture treatment that may incorporate tui na massage, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or more. An ancillary techniques will be dependant on what your body needs at the time of the appointment.
How often should I come for an acupuncture treatment?
This is case by case dependant and there are a few things that can affect how often you should come:
-
the severity of your condition
-
how long you've had the symptoms for
-
your underlying internal balance
-
contributing dietary and lifestyle factors

When looking at booking in for your initial appointment, we would recommend booking three sessions, one week apart. This allows a clearer picture of how your body is responding to the acupuncture and what treatment protocol would be needed moving forward.
How do I cancel or reschedule my acupuncture appointment?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment please email our clinic via info@langacupuncture.com as soon as possible. As we are still a small business, we would appreciate as much notice as possible to allow other clients the opportunity to book an acupuncture appointment. Please note our cancellation policy requests 24 hours notice, so appointments altered within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
